On Radiology Rounding

Radiologists have been said to work only in dark rooms in order to better visualize diagnostic images. This is may be partially true, however, not completely true. Recently, there have been efforts to provide radiology services outside of the typical dark reading room. Some radiologists, have started to take part in hospital “rounding” with other doctors. ThisĀ in an effort to provide ordering physicians immediate feedback on helpful diagnostic imaging order selection to more efficiently and quickly diagnose their patient’s illnesses. In doing so, radiologists are breaking the historical stigma of only working in dark caves.
